Reported by HN:

Just to inform you that I received a request to attend a briefing by Sime Darby regarding their plans for the official handing over of the Ara Damansara Community Police Station to Polis DiRaja Malaysia scheduled for Tuesday, 21 Jul 09 beginning at 9am with the Home Minister arriving at 10am to officiate.

The stretch of road from the Crimson traffic lights through the police station up to the turning to Dataran Ara will be closed from 19th July 2009 to 21st July 2009 afternoon.

Do view the attached documents pertaining to the event
1) Invitation Card to ALL Ara Damansara Residents
2) Detailed Itinerary
3) Event Layout Details.
4) Road diversions (19-21 July)

We were informed that there are 22 CCTV cameras in Ara Damansara for the sole purpose for monitoring crimes (and not traffic offences).

The cameras will be monitored from the Ara Damansara Community Police Station.

This is the perfect time for all to see the police station and the facilities within and view the CCTV demonstration.

All are invited, it’s going to be a major event with road closures, helicopter displays, march pass, etc.

Oh! and refreshments will be served at 12ish :)

I plan to be there and hope to see some of you there as well.

They are closing the roads from 19th! Good grief. No wonder the crime rates continue to go up. They simply got their priorities all wrong. When will they learn?

what’s the reason for the closure? just so some YB can parade about for 15 min or so? why close for 3 days?

Is the road closed for whole day or certain hours only? I may need to inform my children transporter in order not to late for their school.

I’m wondering how Alissia and Atilia residents getting in and out of their homes? Are they opening another exit and closing the current one for few days?

They have, sometime today (Friday, 17Jul), started work setting up their tents/platforms, etc. Both sides of the road are closed INFRONT OF THE POLICE STATION ONLY. You’ll not be able to cut across from NZX to Dataran Ara/Oasis but have to take the longer way, passing the SemiDs.

Sorry but I can’t help but say this.

Will I be arrested if I am dressed entirely in black???

I won’t bother going just to see Kerismuddin parade around with his band of merry men. With all the cops keeping tabs on Kerismuddin, I’d better make sure my own home is secure :)

My youngest boy recently experienced a terrible snatch case at the playground near the security house on October 1, 2009 around 8.30 pm to 9.00 pm. He was sitting at the Winchester playground and his 11/2 months Raleigh bicycle beside him. Out of no where, a boy about 9 to 11 years old pop up and snacth his bicycle from his back. I only logged in a police report in Kelana Jaya and not on the spot in Ara Damansara. Why? There is a Police Station but not for log in police report and only 1 cop. Now, I’d better make sure my own home is secure.

Yes, there are young boys stealing bicycles from Ara Damansara residents. My sons encountered a similar experience but there were more kids and they were more subtle. http://www.aradamansara.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=475

I have noticed on some occasions that there r a noisy bunch of boys aged 9-12 thereabouts who congregate with bicycles at the junction of the new low-cost shops-Jalan PJU 1a/1. They r usually there at 5pm, and then after a while, they head off along Jalan PJU 1a/1. Maybe it wd be wise to tail them one of these days to see if they are the bicycle boys in question.
