The Ara Damansara Short-Cut

As they say, it’s better late than never. For Ara Damasarians and residents of surrounding neighbourhoods, the long wait should be over soon.
Work has started at this very short stretch linking Ara Damansara and Damansara Idaman. Heavy machinery can be seen at the work site. Although the stretch is hardly 100 meters long, there is a fair amount of work to be done. They include digging a trench to lay the culverts for drainage, installation of a water trap, leveling of the road, building a divider, installing the street lamps, paving and tarring the road, landscaping and most important, approval from MBPJ before the road is opened for public use. It may take several more weeks but don’t be disappointed if it stretches to July.
Even if it takes 4 months, I think, it’s still worth the wait. Those who are heading towards Kota Damansara and Subang Jaya (from opposite end) are the ones who will benefit the most. Traveling time for these folks can be easily halved. The opening should also provide some relief to the congestion at the FAS tunnel as those returning home now has an alternate route.
Let’s be patient.

I spoke to the project foreman and he mentioned that it would take 4 months to complete. However, he said there would be a slight problem coz ther is no provision for traffic lights @ TA’s Damansara Indah junction when this portion of road is completed.
Can someone check on this coz it could be a delaying tactic to delay opening of the road.
As usual the vibes indicate that Tropicana is not too thrilled about this coz the opening of this road will definately lead to congestion at the tropicana traffic lights which would squeeze the slip entrance to tropicana.
Where is this short cut?
hope the works here progresses fast…don worry chae hoeng believe me you will find out very fast the exact location once d road is opened!
They were working very hard over the weekend with many lorries making many round trips carting the earth away (they were speeding too!). The roads were all muddied as a result but fortunately the downpour yesterday give it a good scrub. I will try to get a few more shots later this week.
good job Leeyk..lets keep the monitoring..gotta get the work completed before any long major public holidays…!
