Ara Damansara Short-cut – Update #5

We are one step closer. Both sides of the laterite road is now paved with limestones gravel. The next job is to tar the road and complete the divider plus the road shoulders. This may take a few more weeks so a late June opening is definitely out of the question.

The heavy machinery has moved over to Persiaran Tropicana where they are working on a new exit. Currently, residents of Damansara Lagenda and Idaman can only turn left into Persiaran Tropicana heading towards Kota Damansara. Based on the excavation works, it looks like you will be able to make a right turn heading towards the tunnel. A set of traffic lights is definitely required but I am not sure if traffic coming from Kota Damansara are allowed to turn right into PJU 1A/1. It makes sense to allow this. Otherwise, drivers will have to travel another half a km to make a U turn. This will add to the already very heavy traffic making the U turns.

Now that we know a June opening will not happen, what’s the likely opening date then? There is a remote chance that it may happen in July but I think August is more likely. Don’t be surprised if we have to wait till September.
