Ara Damansara Short-cut – Update #6

By LeeYK
June 14

Exit

It’s probably the longest fortnight. Unless you are observant, you must be wondering if any work was done in the last two weeks. They did but the work was concentrated at the exit near Tropicana. They are still working on the road foundation. Part of the road needs to be widened for this exit so some trees have to go. I expect they will be busy here for the next few weeks.

Closer to home, the lamp posts are up. Kerbs one side of the road is almost complete and they are half-way through on the opposite side. But they need to do the divider too. Work is slow, in fact, too slow… testing our patience.

Well, what else can we do other than wait?

though work is progressing slowly, a lot of cars already started using the road though it is not tarred.

Can someone pls tell where is road about? Is it faster to get to IKEA now with this route? I am completely blur.

  • kean1278

yes, it is a shorter route to ikea though i am not sure if it is faster since there is nkve and ldp. this is cos, this route will have more traffic lights than taking either the highways and that highways might be faster IF there is no jam.

If you come from crimson/nzx….at the traffic light, turn right…..the short cut is at the end of the road…..but there are concrete blocks blocking part of the road.

I sneaked past the guards this morning. Going to 1U, it is about 3km shorter. However, travel time is almost the same because of a big bottleneck at Jalan Tanjung.

I came back home 11pm last night using it from Dam Idaman,Legenda, however the usual part near to Winchester was closed with swing gate for re-casting the kerb/curb. The right side( Taipan 1) was opened instead. The workers/construction bosses are considerate by doing so allowing continuous access.
This morning, I went out by the same way and noticed significant WIP. Look like by July should be all completed.

can we assume its safe to use without the tar? i thot i saw some big concrete blocks there?

well, i can ony say….”use at own risk” as there are small stone which might be sharp and puncture our tyres……and if there is any damage or accident, the contractor will not be liable since it is not ready to be used in the first place…..hence as mentioned “use at own risk”
