Ara Damansara Short-cut – Update #8

The exit at Persiaran Tropicana is close to 90% complete. The road is tarred and they need to complete the pavement works. This exit is unlikely to be opened until a set of traffic lights is installed.
At our home stretch, work has come to a halt for several weeks now. The only comfort is the boom gate has been left unlocked and many of us have started to use this short-cut. The ride is bumpy and dusty but it’s worth it.
If you are headed to Tropicana Golf & Country Club, Damansara Indah, Kota Damansara, Bandar Utama or Taman Tun, this short-cut offers you travel time savings of 20mins or more. As I work in Bandar Utama, my journey home after work now takes 15mins. If I take the normal route via FAS tunnel, it takes me 30mins to an hour depending on traffic conditions.
The big question now is when will they tar the road? Let’s hope it’s soon.

thanks for the update Lee.. if i wanna use the dirt road? are both lanes open or is only 1 lane open? cheers!
only one lane is open…..but i would advise users to exercise extra caution as the traffic lights are still not “fully” operational which means, you will have to take a chance in crossing the road…..alternatively is to turn towards winchester and make a u-turn. there is already some instance of accident
The fact that many peoples are using the road even though not completed clearly indicates that there is a desperate need for this missing link!I just can’t believe the construction takes such a long time!:-(
I attended the meeting with MBPJ today on the proposed Lembah Penchala development and was informed by one of the officers that an injunction has been served on MBPJ (or may be the developer) to prevent them from opening the Tropicana link (Ara Damansara short-cut) which is under construction. Can someone please confirm this.
i suspected something happened since the link practically stop progressing while the junction was being completed. so much for all those promises made by the council and MPs. Now we are really stuck..with..the megah mas tunnel converted to one way and the tropicana link now halted…..
Now, many of us are using this link daily, even the road is not completed. We are desperate to use this road as it has shorter the distance to reach Ara from LDP. I think the almost solution is to protest or call reporter to highlight our concern to the authority.
injunction has been served? on what grounds? this is ridiculus! we had an extensive study conducted to make FAS tunnel direct traffic from the one way converted Crimsom tunnel..and Tropicana Link to Ara Damansara was part of the overall solution..how can this decision be put on hold? Did the authorities forget about why they conducted study in the first place? please tell me they have more common sense than this…im dissapointed with this attitude but sadly one thing is for sure- appointed contractor will stand to profit from these delays!
I suggest if the missing link road do completed and open to public in future (don’t know when now),
it should be named as “JALAN INJUNCTION “!
Why don’t we collect some money and tar the road by ourself instead of waiting the authority to do their job???

I really dont know whether this injunction is true or not.But if it is real ,then those who abuse the process of law only to go against the Authority ( who wants the road to be completed for the benefits of the public ) to be thrown into ‘ IN JUNK SINK ‘!
I think the road works are halted because it is already so congested.They’re currently finding a solution.it has nothing to do with “politicians and corporate bigwigs”.
Then some idiots must have simply given CF to the nearest housing constructed and those who can’t think of this probably is the same level of mentality
