BEWARE & BE CAREFUL!
Hi all!
Please don’t use the new road coz a very big, deep hole has been dug this afternoon. I guess to prevent residents in Ara Damansara and NZX from using it.
It is very dangerous especially to motorcyclists coz that stretch is not lit up sometimes.
We gotta unite to make the authorities or whoever is responsible for developing that road to complete it.

how many more we still need to tolerate, this is really unfair to all of us in Ara. The closure of tmn megah mas tunnel has brought to us seriously inconvenience. Always thought of the Ara Tropicana link is opening soon. unfortunately our faith still remain unchanged. is this the fate of being Ara residents? our future propects is getting confused…
Yesterday, one residents and his sons from Tropicana were removing the stones inside the deep hole along the exit. He was trying to prevent the car from crossing from Tropicana to Ara. He is such a selfish man..and how could he teach his sons to do that..I think we really need to blow this issue thru media..anyone has contact with media? We need to put a stop on this and force the link to open.
i think we should also contact the MP for our area. i think it is time for them to do something as well. if they decided the link to stay close, then the tmn megah mas tunnel should be reconvert back to 2-way. these tropicana residents is also another lot….when road near KBU is closed, they also protested how it inconvenienced them…..how ironic!!!!
I called MBPJ and according to the officer, there is an injunction served to MBPJ. He refused to elaborate further. According to him the road is yet to handover to MBPJ and the construction cost was born by the Tropicana developer. MBPJ was only approve the project. In other words, he is telling us that if the developer did not continue to complete the road, they can’t do anything due to they are not absorbing the construction cost. Guys, we must stay unite to overcome this big headache….
Called MBPJ this morning to find out status of the link. Waiting for the person in-charge to return call. Will post status update later.
Yes, agree that the person who dug up the road was a very selfish man. Actually for all their screaming protest, have they actually counted the numbers of cars going thru it everyday? Although the current usage is not a good indication of the number of vehicles, personally i think there will not be many cars using that link on a daily basis. Furthermore, the link is only a throughfare and it does not go into residential area, if they are concern about security. Once opened, the link will also allow the idaman residents to access the shops in Ara as well as the upcoming Tesco. Also shorter distance to subang airport n subang jaya/USJ. They don’t need to get into NKVE and pay the RM1.00 toll to PLUS to go to these destinations.
With so many plus, what is their problem?
Their problem is only one word that is “SELFISH”…they can force KBU to open as they wish, they can also close the link as they wish..sigh…rich can do anything..
i guess with the injuction……it will be few more years before we see a chance of the road opening. but i would really like to see the reason for the injunction. like richiee mentioned, idaman residences are already gated and guarded and so is tropicana, so there should not really be a case of security since tracffic is not going through their housing. and more importantly, i believe the link is not a new proposal but is already drafted in the pj/damansara blueprint but is not implemented due to the development by the developer.
saw some motorist (yesterday evening) who put back some stones to allow for limited usage. father & sons must have removed them again..sigh………
looks like this will get ugly!!!!
injunction i believe is not from tropicana side but idaman / ta or whatever residence that will lose it’s “special enclave” , “exclusive luxury home” tag when the road opens EVENTUALLY .. i believe the father / son combination also comes from there such a shame ..
like what kean1278 said it will only get uglier ..
what MBPJ should do now is to engage a legal consultant (if their inhouse legal adviser does not know how to do it!)to have the injunction lifted immediately and then instruct the developer to complete the road within a week and then hand over to MBPJ.MBPJ should not say they cannot do anything! The wisdom and capability of MBPJ in handling this matter amicably is being challenged by those living in IN JUNK SINK man!
So long as the contractor don’t put back the padlock or put up the barricades, we can do something. All we need is to bring our shovels and do our part to re-fill the trench. As to the father & son episode, how do we know they are from the said community? I suggest whoever see them again next time doing the same thing, let’s take a pic of them then stop your car and ask why they are doing it. But pl don’t get into a fight
yeah…i think we should really talk to the father/son to be considerate. i also agree with notelite the father/son is likely from idaman/ta area instead of tropicana…..frankly, if you look at the traffic flow, i do not think tropicana resident is affected.
We did question him why he did that. He said that is not a public road and not mean for us to use. When he saw many of us in angry manner, he drove off quickly “back to IDAMAN”. I am very sure he is from Idaman because he used pass card to enter the security point.
I agreed with leeyk that instead of waiting MBPJ to do something, lets bring our shovels and fill the hole with more stones to make it stronger and also pray hard that those residents from IDAMAN would not remove the stones again.
Sorry there is an error in my first message, the father and sons are from IDAMAN.
well, while i agree with the father/son that the road is not a public road, it is NOT a private road at the same time. Even if it is a private road, then get the owner to lock up the road. and if he is not the owner of the road, and that the road is not a public road, then i would ask him, what gives him the right to dig a hole on other people’s land?
I have contacted the Star, let’s see if they find this item newsworthy. If yes, they may send a reporter over. If you like to be interviewed, we can arrange to meet him at some teh tarik stall.
Simple. Just use much heavier stones so that they need equipment to remove them
In the alternative, play a war of attrition. They remove, we replace, etc. Let’s see who has the staying power.
This is just too much! How can the construction just stop like that without any progress in the past 1 month! I think we need to organize ourselves for this. If you are calling the reporter for this, pls let us know when will they come. I will try to show up to give support to this.
It seems the hole was being dug wider and slightly deeper. Notice it just now when I passed by the area. I wonder did they hire a backhoe to excavate that portion. What selfish people are they.
A reporter from STAR called me today to enquire about the Lembah Penchala development and I informed her about the closure of the Tropicana link. She told me that she will try to be there on Fri. to take some pictures. Let’s see if we can draw her attention to highlight this issue.
I was told some very kind residents from Winchester filled up part of the trench. However, the road is still very uneven and some road users who are not awared of the trench had nasty surprises with scratches and dents.
I like to suggest a gotong-royong exercise this Sat evening (5 – 7pm), bring along your shovels and let’s smoothed the surface.
My neighbour’s son fell from his bike last Friday night. He had bruise and scratch on his knee and hand. Unfortunately, accident still happened on Friday even I had called the moderator to put up the notice. I feel bad and disappointed on that man behavior. I hope he manages to read this forum and feel guilty.
leeyk,
count me in if the gotong-royong is on. I suggest we bring some bricks or big stones to level the surface. Dear residents, if you wish to come, pls confirm.
Cheers..lets work together for the betterment.
wah now got father & son on personal mission? crazy jokers..! lets teach them about “rakyat” power! unite Ara Damansara residents! Huuuaaahh!
sometimes, it is just sad that people get hurt over trivial matters. we all live in a community and should be on a look out for one another. i also do not know what is the father/son thinking……especially the father who obviously is not showing an exemplary behaviour of moderation and compassion to the son/s.
I used the shortcut back to Ara on Tuesday (10.8.2010) at about 1:45pm, I saw a BULLDOZER with an INDIAN MAN parked at shortcut from IDAMAN……. When I passed by, I slowed down and looked at the INDIAN MAN, at that moment he seem like turned his face away to avoid me from recognise him. After 4 hours, I used the shortcut again to BANDAR UTAMA, then the BIG LONGKANG were done at both end of the shortcut….. I still able to passed with my CRV, bur very very angry coz I finally know what are that INDIAN MAN waiting for just now.
Sad to know this “FATHER & SON” great job!!! Really well done…! Ara Damansara also hv Bunglows.Semi-D, Linked houses with expensive value…… but we are all keep LOW PROFILE AND KIND!!! Cheer….!!! Ara Damansara.
Called to MPPJ, Jabatan Kejuruteraan just now. Spoke to the engineer in-charge, Pn. Hanizah. Was told that there is a call-in-junction (dunno what’s that mean, apparently mean instruction from court) from one of the resident in Tropicana. As a result, the whole construction is now put on hold, pending to sort out some legal issue. Must be some great job from the rich people in Tropicana.
However the reply from this Pn Hanizah also puzzling me.
1. They dunno who did that.
2. There is no plan when to settle this.
3. ASked what is next step and she just replied they will handle.
What happen to KPI set by the government? No plan, no target completion…
If anyone of you got little bit of time and would like to show concern, please call her. At least, some pressure from AD residents.
Still remember what she said before hang-up: I am busy… (yeah, right.)
Oh, forgot about the phone no: 03-79584221.
Something to add on: apparently many of these government servant still dunno who is their boss.
Count me in on the Gotong-royong to bridge the Tropicana link! C u guys on Saturday (14-08-10) at 5:00 pm, ie. tomorrow. We need to show our neighbours in Damansara Idaman that we, Ara Damansarians, are not to be cowed by them. Would appreciate that someone from Tropicana side would be able to show us your solidatity. (Very glad to receive the message from Mr Jeff Orr from Tropicana!)
We should also hold MBPJ responsible for this issue. I’m sure the Tropicana link road is in the development plan which was approved by MBPJ for the development in Damansara Idaman. If it is, then why was CF issued to them when the link road is not complete?
This part of an actual conversation between me and my 3 years old son this morning..
Son: Daddy, why did the selfish man dig holes on the faster road (the tropicana link)?
Me: Because the selfish man do want people to use the road.
Son: Cannot..the road is for people to use.
Moral of the story : Even a 3 year old understands that roads are for public use.
Sorry – reposting dull to error.
