A message from Tropicana RA
Good morning,
Traffic issues are probably the biggest concern of all of us; from your community in Ara Damansara right through to those living in Kota Damansara, Bandar Utama and beyond. We have all been asking for a thorough traffic study of the broader area for many years. After years of lobbying we have managed to get better access via the additional tunnel lanes under the NKVE. We have so far been unsuccessful in having Jalan Tanjung (near Sony) re-opened but we are actively pursuing that issue in co-operation with other RAs who are suffering because of that loss of access. As a result of that closure the residents of BU11 & 12 now have a major thoroughfare running through their neighborhood and access to their homes is badly affected. Sadly that problem has been caused by their own developer.
The traffic study is an urgent necessity because to date the solutions for one community have only made things worse for other communities. Nobody seems to be looking at the overall problem of developers creating large scale communities without adequate access.
If we can speak with one voice on that issue we can bring a lot of unhappy voters to bear on the government. The Tropicana RA has no issue with the opening of the new link, it is necessary for the broader community. But we do want to ensure that promises are kept and that traffic flow is optimised.
How do we take the next step? Is this website connected with a residents’ association? Who should we contact to arrange a meeting?
Looking forward to hearing from you. I have copied the President of our RA, Shukri, on this note so you can respond to either one of us.
And congratulations on having such a vibrant website. We have not managed to have as many of our members become active on ours - http://www.tropicanara.com/
I am a committee member of the Tropicana Residents’ Association and I think it would be good for our RAs to meet up and share our concerns openly. I am sure we can co-operate on some issues that affect both of our neighborhoods.
I noticed your request for more info on the incident regarding a member of a neighboring community interfering with the road works on the new link road. Is it possible for you to make a police report based on the evidence that you have? We would support taking action against such acts.

Such a joy to read such civil writing
A big round of applause to Jeff.
well written message. unfortunately , most of you do not understand why we closed Jalan Tanjung.we did so because we hoped that people would protest for more access roads. Now the developers are laughing at us because we’re calling each other stingy. I strongly suggest you contact the BU RA to discuss this issue.
