The never ending road

By LeeYK

When I first wrote on this subject last year, never did I expect that I would still be at it 10 months later. Call it naivety or stupidity, I was optimistic of a July opening then. When it was not progressing well, we gave the excuse “Malaysian style”. Then weeks passed, and months and before we knew it, the year was over.

Looking back, the climax came in August. It was a month of high drama spiced with suspicions, anger and frustrations.

It is kind of silly. Residents fighting each other over rights of way. Think about channelling all those negative energy to some worthy cause. The world will be a better place. Unfortunately, that’s life, I guess.

Things got complicated when we found out the matter is in the land of the justice. We assembled a team of lawyers ready to make our next move. Then someone woke up from slumber and exclaimed “We owned the land!”.

They gave us hope. But that was 3 months ago.

The clock continued to tick.

But all is not lost.

Grapevine has it that work will start soon.

Let’s hope it is for real this time.

Was just wondering about this “issue” while driving on it last night. I thought MBPJ mentioned that the road is expected to be ready by end of February 2011 (referring to the blog entry dated 10 December 2010). Instead potholes are getting bigger and bigger each day and not a single “road construction” activity is seen at the site. Sigh… perhaps we could join forces again on one of the weekends to recycle the “giant cow dung” and fill up the potholes for the time being? Just an idea.

we should do something to improve the condition of the road

everyday pass by the road also will curse the house at left and right :O … the road condition now is very bad….. more damage to the car that always passing by the road…. dunno when the authority will start working with the road

It should be very soon. If nothing happens in 2 weeks, I am thinking of organizing another gotong-royong. Will you join?

The pot-holes are really damaging our cars. And there is a long black tyre mark this morning, must be from someone who is not familiar with this area and was speeding.

If the gotong-royong is on… I’ll sure join!

called MPPJ this morning. The person in charge of this never ending road says she has just been given the project to complete the road. Just advertised for contractors to do the job. Have to wait for applications to come in then pick the contractor and so forth. This will take another 3 to 6 months.

WTH! 3 to 6 months? why take so long? believe me, I can complete this road within a month

  • Guys, lets do the gotong royong. We can get donation boxes and stand by and ask motorist to chip in and get someone to tar the pot holes and make the road more usable. lets say we start sunday? 5/mar

Tomorrow is too short notice. We are planning to do it end of this month, most likely on a Sat morning. We are also working with a sponsor on this event. We are running through the logistics and we will make an announcement. Stay tuned!

This issue has been a while and seems like MBPJ is not forthcoming, and left the taypayers do the extra work to ensure our view and voices are heard, repairing etc, from time to time.

Just a little thought that whether we could get the MP in charge to do the job instead (actually he should!), and invite the opposition at the same time. Whoever could rebuild the road (completely) by the coming General Election will get the vote.

  • leeyk

Does anyone know the Opposition (i.e. BN) reps for our area, both for State and Parliament?

  • Guys, so what is the exact date of our gotong royong? The cars that are using the road are getting badly damage and we can get donations from them to tar the road

let make this a reality folks! final push to get this through..we need all your collective effort!
