Time flies. In a couple of days, we will usher in a new year. This year has just gone past just like that. Looking back, the most silly event has to be the end of the world on 21st December. The day has come and gone and we are still here.

This is the time of the year when we make resolutions for the new year. New year resolutions are easy to make and some are very ambitious ones like ” I want to be more successful” or ” I want to do great things”. Though they look great, the problem with such resolutions is they are likely to remain unfulfilled. They are just too general and it really takes honesty and conscience to say you have met them. More realistic resolutions might be ” I want to reduce my credit card spending by 20%” or ” I want to quit smoking”.

Most people make resolutions for the fun of it and quickly forget about them. But if you are serious, you need to spend time and be discipline about it. You need regular checkpoints to see where you are, how far you are from the target and if you are making progress. And be honest about it.

I have always envied owners of luxury cars. Not that I have not driven one but it will be nice to own one. My dream is to own a BMW 3 series and the red one is simply gorgeous. So I have decided to make this my new year resolution.

This resolution will be very challenging but I have this brilliant idea. But I am not as thick skin as the Singaporean who made a wish list of the cars he wanted and asked someone to buy one for him.

My plan is actually quite simple. There are many kind-hearted souls in the world: people like Warren Buffet or Bill Gates who plan to give their fortune away when they leave this world. I am sure there are many more people like him who may not be as rich but equally kind-hearted.

So this is what I contemplate to do. I will setup a site called “Make my wish come true!”. All I need is for 238,000 kind souls to donate a Ringgit each.

I have one full year to do this. What do you think? Will this work?
